As soon as he arrived, he asked if we’d had any pest problems since we signed on with Core in July. I told him I’d seen spiders inside, and especially in the carport. After treating our entire property inside and out, he placed some glue traps inside the carport perimeter as an extra measure to help catch any spiders that might pop up in the future. I normally don’t employ these types of services and try to take care of the issue myself, but Jed, the Core salesman, caught me at my weakest moment. I had been battling an ant invasion of my home for over 3 days and was losing. I tried the Taro ant bait traps, 5 different household sprays, a ton of vinegar, and had mopped 16 times. If anything there were even more ants inside (despite me moving dog food, the initial trigger, upstairs on day 1). The Core pest tech came and sprayed the next day and BAM! Within hours of him spraying I have not seen a single ant in my home in MONTHS.
I will also say I was nervous in particular to employ Core because some of the Google reviews for the Charleston location made the company seem like a scam. However, their sales tech explained the situation to me and given that we are in Greenville/Upstate area I figured I’d give them a chance.
Well 2.5 months later and all of a sudden I have over 15 stink bugs in my house and like 50+ in my greenhouse (see photo) in just one day!?! To be fair, I try to garden organically so I likely created this problem myself by missing some eggs. I called Core immediately (literally less than 10 minutes before they closed) and someone (she was so nice and I think her name started with an L?) answered and had a technician scheduled to come out 2 days later. The poor technician got caught up at one of his earlier appointments and I was worried he wouldn’t be able to make it out (we were going out of town the next day). However, when I called customer service at 4:30pm she promptly answered again and said we were still scheduled on his route. He didn’t arrive until 7:30pm, but I sincerely appreciate the dedication. I had my house sitter check the following day - not one stink bug. It’s been a few days since and I’ve seen maybe 3 stink bugs since (they are resilient) but also some dead ones, so I would say it’s still working.
The company might be a little pricey, and yes you do sign a contract for an entire year with honestly no way to get out of it, but I couldn’t be happier with my decision!! Excellent customer service and very efficient product 10/10.
